Greenhouse Companies

We are in the process of getting quotes and bids on a new 24 x 30 greenhouse that we will be constructing in the next few months. We are attaching it to a new ag faciliity that will be done in the next six weeks.

I am currently solicitng bids from three companies. Stuppy, Hummert (AgraTech Greenhouses) and BWI Companies (they handle Atlas Greenhouses).

I was wondering if anyone has had dealings with any of these companies and if you could give me some insight into your experience with them. I have never built a greenhouse before, so initially we are looking at turnkey installation. We will probably adjust that later in the process.

I appreciate your input.

Thanks!

Re: Greenhouse Companies
My greenhouse was already done and instaled when I started teaching. It is a Stuppy greenhouse and the former teacher was expected to install it herself. From what I heard it did not go very well, so my advice is to pay for the professionall installation. They will get it done quicker and better and will actually use all the parts! I like my Stuppy Greenhouse, but have no experience with the other companies. Good luck!

Re: Greenhouse Companies

I have 2 Atlas greenhouses - the Educator, built by BWI. I absolutely love them! The greenhouse tech guys at BWI are great to work with. They are always there to answer questions or give suggestions. They did all construction, but the electrical and plumbing hookups were done by our subcontractors during new building construction. Our contact person at BWI worked well with the subs, They've come out at least twice to make sure everything was running smoothly. I am very pleased with their work and our new greenhouses.

One word of advise - if you can, raise your sidewalls to 6 ft. Coming from quonset houses to the educator, we decided to do this and ended up with a more functional and better looking structure.

Re: Greenhouse Companies
Try Nexus, Northglenn, Colorado. Quality is excellent, support is even better.
