We want to get students thinking about a career in ag education, so we've got big things planned for the FFA Convention - be sure to visit!
Play "Teach Ag TAG"
Sign your chapter up to play our game show and let your students have the chance to try to think like an ag teacher. Everyone who plays wins a t-shirt, and the winning team of each game will be entered to win the grand prize of a visit to their chapter from Dr. Larry Case sometime during the next year.
Teams can consist of 1 advisor and between 1 and 4 students. Slots fill up fast, so signing up in advance is recommended. Email Julie Fritsch and tell her when you'd like to play (games every 1/2 hour during the career fair - Wed 12:30-5:30, Thurs. 8:30-5:30, Fri 8:30-3:30).
Bring Your Students to the Future Teacher VIP Lounge
We have a whole area this year dedicated to showcasing the tools of the trade for ag teachers. Let students check out the display and sign up for the National Teach Ag Campaign. We have a fun quiz they can take to see if they think like an ag teacher, and they can sign our banner saying they visited the Future Teacher VIP Lounge and got TAGGED to Teach Ag!
Visit NAAE in Teacher's World
We love FFA Convention so much, we decided to have two booths this year! Visit the NAAE Booth in Teacher's World and learn about what's going on with NAAE, including how we're leading National Teach Ag Day, February 25th, 2010.
Students needed for Focus Group on Agriculture Teacher Recruitment
The 10x15 Teacher Recruitment Task force will be conducting focus groups of high school and college students who are planning to major in ag ed or are already majoring in ag ed with the intention of teaching ag. We need your help identifying and signing up students for these focus groups, which will take place on Thursday, October 22, during the FFA Convention, in the Indianapolis Convention Center. Participants under 18 must have their parents sign a consent form. Get more information and download the consent form.
