Happy October!
As I type this email I look out the window at SNOW covered ground. I hope your landscape is much more appealing.
I am contacting you today to request your presence at the National Teach Ag Day video shoot on Thursday, October 22nd from 8am-6pm in the new Teachers World area of the National FFA Convention. The specific details of the video shoot are below. Also attached is the form you need to fill out. I am sending this form in advance so that if you wish you may complete it prior and bring it on Oct. 22nd. If you forget or would prefer to wait we will also have forms available the day of the video shoot. There is a form for MS/HS/Post-Sec/FBM, University AgEd students, and Teacher Educators, please find the one that best suits you. The shoot is not limited to these categories. We welcome state staff, FFA staff, alumni, and other AgEd stakeholders. While we would love to have everyone be in the video it may not be feasible given time allowances. Any unused recordings will be stored for future promotional materials and your comments may be used on the NAAE Teach Ag Website.
To get started...
When:Thursday, Oct. 22nd 8am - 6pm
Where:Teachers World at the National FFA Convention Career Expo Building (report to the NAAE booth in Teachers World)
Why:To share your passion and enthusiasm for teaching agriculture and inspire the next generation of ag teachers.
What to wear: We have not determined what the final back-drop will be and it may change during the editing process, I recommend wearing something that is not too contrasting; a lot of bold stripes, patterns, etc. The shot will likely be from the waist up.
How: The video shoot will take place in a sealed booth area where it will be you sitting on a high back chair, 2-3 camera people, and myself. I will be asking you your predetermined questions (see attached sheet that applies best to you) and it will basically be a conversation like atmosphere with me standing behind the camera.
Time Commitment: The video shoot will be open to all teachers, teacher educators, AgEd University students, State Staff, and other AgEd stakeholders who want to take part. Simply stop by and we should, barring no major catastrophes, have you in/out in 10 minutes.
Other than that show up and tell your story. If there aren't any questions on the attached sheets that really encompass what you want to say feel free to simply share a story or memorable moment. The questions are a guide not necessarily a rule!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you next week.
As our way of thanking you for your time and commitment to Ag Education you will receive a specially designed National Teach Ag Day t-shirt for shooting your testimonial.
